BAKEWELL-based rockers Corkstone are making a welcome return to the road with gigs across the country.
The band, lead guitarist James Harrison, singer-songwriter Matt Pearson, bass player Will Haslam and keyboard player Ben Pearson will be showcasing fresh material and performing with new drummer Nick Watmore.
Singer Matt said since their appearance on Channel Four's MobileAct Unsigned, six months ago, they have developed into a much closer and stronger unit.
He added: "2007 was one hell of a year for us, with plently of gigs and outstanding support from our always loyal fans and manager.
"We also feel that to finish where we did in the voting stage of MobileAct Unsigned was a triumphant achievement for a band who hail from a small market town. We were voted 16th out of 1700 bands."
Fans can expect a more rocky and uplifting beat from the five piece's new songs and they will be appearing at the Y-Not festival in August, the Muse Bar in Nottingham on the April 29, the Pittball Festival in Devon in June and are set to play charity gig Mannersfest in Bakewell.
