Increase in number of Covid patients at Chesterfield Royal

As of December 14, Chesterfield Royal has 38 Covid-19 inpatients, up from 29 this time last week.
Of these, 12 are in intensive care.
The hospital saw its number of Covid inpatients peak at 75 in early April, according to NHS data, along with its highest number of patients with the virus in intensive care, at 17.

Hide AdAcross Derbyshire, there are now 300 patients with Covid-19 currently in hospital beds.
The rate is the same as it was during the height of the second wave in mid-November.
Hospital staff in the county are rolling out the Pfizer and BioNTech Covid vaccine to hundreds of those at most risk from the virus health chiefs and politicians are hoping this will make all the difference over winter.
However, they are urging against early celebrations over the vaccine and warning that residents should remain cautious, with the vaccine rollout likely to take months to get through those most at risk and with the NHS already under pressure.

Hide AdA Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said: “We have introduced a number of measures to keep people safe when coming into our hospital, including hand sanitiser and face mask stations, one way systems and modified seating in our waiting areas to accommodate social distancing.
