26 of the best places to live across Chesterfield, Derbyshire and the Peak District, recommended by Derbyshire Times readers – including Bakewell, Castleton, Ashbourne, Matlock and Holymoorside
Rosemary Birnie said: “Ashbourne. Was voted one of the best places in the UK to bring up a family. Schools are good, crime rate is low, a hospital with an out of hours service at weekends, nice swimming and leisure centre. It's on the doorstep for the Peak Park, Carsington Water, Alton Towers, and some beautiful stately homes. Property prices aren't too bad now and we have some good supermarkets, a cinema and great cafes and pubs. Don't forget though, it’s also the home of Shrovetide football. Great place to live.” Photo: Google
