Sustrans, the UK's leading sustainable transport charity, would like to mark Volunteers' Week (June 1 to 7) by thanking our 2,500 volunteer rangers, who make an incredible contribution to our work.
They act as our eyes and ears to ensure that the 12,000 miles of National Cycle Network are a pleasure for walkers, cyclists and others to use. They cut back hedges, put up signs and bird boxes, build benches, pick litter and even organise local bike rides.
Our volunteers are as keen as ever for like-minded people to join their local group.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer ranger and want to help make a positive difference in your community visit
