Eco-friendly homes have been officially opened in a Dales village.
Four properties, built with environmentally-friendly ground source heat pumps and using locally sourced stone, were opened in Brassington.

The village had been identified by Derbyshire Dales District Council as an area in significant need of new housing and Nottingham Community Housing Association helped solve the problem by developing the houses.

Meadow Cottages have been built with a grant from the Housing Corporation, and funding from the district council and NCHA.

Council leader Lewis Rose, said: "The district council's top priority is affordable housing.

This is the latest in a series of developments in Derbyshire Dales villages where the district council has worked with the local community and the housing association to help address the local need for affordable homes."
