A Chesterfield town centre street has been closed by police as they tackle an incident – causing severe disruption for drivers.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix has reported that Brewery Street in Chesterfield town centre is closed in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.

Heavy traffic is building towards major A-roads, including the A619 and A61, as well as other surrounding routes.

Stagecoach East Midlands have confirmed that the 77 service is unable to serve any stops between Brimington Crematorium and Cavendish Street due to a police road closure. Stops in Tapton will not be served at this time.
