A Chesterfield man has been jailed for a “deliberate attack” on three paramedics who “saved his life”.

Tony Wishart, 52, set upon the ambulance workers in an “unprovoked attack” on August 19 on Bolsover’s Shuttlewood Road.

Chesterfield Magistrates Court heard the three medics had “saved his life” and “were repaid with an unprovoked attack”.

The court heard only custody was appropriate because of Wishart’s “deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties”.

Wishart, of Charlesworth Street, Bolsover, admitted two counts of assault by beating and one count of assault.

He was also ordered to may £300 compensation.
