Man hospitalised after car flips over on road near Chesterfield

A man was taken to hospital after his car overturned on a road near Chesterfield.

Police said they were called to outside Stanedge Golf Club on Darley Road, Ashover, at about 5pm on Saturday after the Fiat Punto flipped over.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "The incident involved just one car.

"The driver was released from the car and taken to hospital.

"His injuries were not life-threatening."

The road was blocked for about an hour and a half, the spokesman added.

Police could not release the cause of the crash.

Eyewitnesses said the crash victim was an elderly man although police could not confirm his age.
