Two men arrested after armed police find handgun in vehicle near Chesterfield after pursuit
Two men were arrested near Chesterfield last night after a handgun was found in a vehicle.
At about 11.45pm Derbyshire police received a report of a man allegedly in possession of a gun on Highfield Road in the Newbold area of Chesterfield.
A Derbyshire police spokesperson said: "Armed officers were deployed in pursuit of a car.
"A 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested.
"A handgun was seized from the vehicle."
