It was all hands on deck at The Fishpond Freehouse, on South Parade, on Saturday and Sunday for the village’s first-ever pirate festival.
And there was an extra special moment for Ambergate resident Wayne, as he proposed to partner Sarah Page.

Hide AdWayne, who also organised the event, said: “There are hundreds of part-time pirates around the country, a loyal community - but all the festivals take place on the coast.
“People say Matlock Bath is a seaside town without the sea, so I figured why not stage an inland mutiny.”
Largely funded by the venue, the event included live music, entertainers, games, animals and re-enactments.
