MATLOCK Cycling Club is counting down to the day it hosts one of the sport's most prestigious races.
Bank Road, in Matlock, will be the venue for the 2008 National Hill Climb Championships on Sunday October 26.

Around 150 of Britain’s best climbers will tackle the gradient of Matlock’s former tram route, which will be closed to traffic in readiness for the event to begin at 12noon.

Seven days earlier the club hosts two climbs in a day. The famous Riber Road climb – an annual club championship event – gets underway at 10am on Sunday October 19, with a ‘dry run’ up Bank Road in the afternoon at 2pm.
