Clubs line up in memory of midfield star

MATLOCK Town U19s are to play West Bridgford U19s in a memorial match for midfielder Jack O'Dare this Sunday.
O’Dare was about to start his second full season with the Gladiators, but died when the car he was a passenger in collided with a tree in Ripley on August 18.
West Bridgford were O’Dare’s Saturday side and they will line up to face Matlock on Sunday (October 12) at 2.30pm at Causeway Lane.
Admission is free.
The teams will play for the Jack O’Dare Memorial Trophy and it is envisaged that the game will become an annual fixture in memory of Jack.
Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Nottingham Forest are set to donate raffle prizes, with funds raised being shared between the football and cricket clubs Jack played for,
The talented 17-year-old from Ironville, near Ripley, also played for Alfreton and Swanwick Hall cricket clubs and had just begun training with Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
