HEAVY rain once again forced Matlock Angling Club to switch their monthly match to Cawdor Ponds on Sunday.
That late call resulted in a turnout of only nine anglers on what was a wet and miserable morning.

The fish were reluctant to feed early in the match, but as the weather improved with an appearance from the sun they started to respond.

The match was won by Asa Cooper, above, who caught steadily all through the match and finished with a net of 12lbs 4oz made up mainly of roach.

In second place was Dave Fowler who had a few skimmer bream to add to the roach for 9lbs 7oz.

In third was Mark Gregory who also found the bream for a weight of 6lbs 11oz.

Result: 1 A Cooper (peg 18) 12lbs 4oz, 2 D Fowler (peg 2) 9lbs 7oz, 3 M Gregory (peg 3) 6lbs 11oz, 4 C Cantrill (peg 24) 4lbs 12oz, 5 R Cantrill (peg 15) 4lbs.
