Town were the better side and probably should have taken all three points back to Derbyshire.
Joel Taylor hit the crossbar, Fraser Kerr had one cleared off the line and Nathan Tyson had a good chance late on.
It was a positive performance from the Blues against one of their play-off rivals so there is a lot to be happy about.
Here are Liam Norcliffe’s player ratings from the game...
1. Grant Smith 7
Recalled to the side and recorded his 10th clean sheet in 15 starts. Did well to claim a few Wrexham corners in the first-half and after the break he made one good reaction save from Young's cross which bounced just in from of him. Other than that it was a fairly quiet afternoon for the stopper. Photo: Dean Atkins
2. George Carline 7
Running out of superlatives to describe him! When it looks like he is under pressure or in a tricky spot nothing seems to faze him and he somehow always manages to get out of it. He let nothing past him all afternoon and got the better of his man. Photo: jason chadwick
3. Fraser Kerr 7
The back three in general did well and Kerr was solid. For the second game running he could have scored but his effort was cleared off the line. Photo: Craig Brough/AHPIX LTD
4. Gavin Gunning 7
Cool as a cucumber. Always looks like he has got so much time on the ball. Got to hope his hamstring holds up. Photo: Craig Brough/AHPIX LTD
