A Derbyshire choir is looking for recruits to swell its ranks.

The Village Singers perform at several concerts each year, led by musical director Stuart Graham and accompanied by pianist Abi Parker.

Forthcoming dates include: The Risley Park on November 3 at 1.45pm (Long Eaton Ladies Probus Club meeting); St Michael’s Church, Breaston on December 5 at 7.30pm (Breaston Women’s Institute group meeting) and Breaston Methodist Church Hall on December 8 at 1.30pm (The Breaston Belles Women’s Institute group meeting).

The choir was founded 15 years ago and meets at St Michael’s Church Hall, Breaston, on most Thursdays, between 7.30pm and 9pm, to sing secular and sacred songs.

Parking is free in Breaston Square after 6pm.

Potential new members are advised that the ability to read music is not absolute requirement and there is no formal audition.
